| | fair enough. anxiety of influence is a common threat, i agree. however, your text breaks up in word clusters, whereas the original flows smoothely. it's not called a Song for nothing. this is a part of conveying the "atmosphere". |

and atmosphere. that is the goal of sacrificing both form and meaning.
i haven't read Bunin's translation and i won't do it until i finish my
own work - just to keep the impression.
